So you would prefer that the people of Berlin were divided by a barrier of concrete, barb wire, watchtowers, machine guns and dogs to keep people locked into the communist system?Would you like to live in a police prison state?Go fuck yourself!

The desecration of the Berlin Wall has brought only untold hardship to the poor people of the occupied DDR. Go to Brandenburg province and you'll witness poverty and dispair.

America did not take down the Berlin wall, neither did it's president (reagan) and neither did MTV (though they will put their name and flag on it.) It was an outstanding effort by people who wanted better lives, not the famous U.S. meddling that has destroyed so many countries.

the myth of ronald reagan single-handedly bringing down the soviet union is just another page in a long history of historical misrepresenatations and disturbing hero worship in this country, in addition to a complete ignorance of the complex nature of historical events. there ARE other actors besides the all-mighty and all-righteous united states for christ's sake.

Nothing to do with Reagan. Had to do with those brave people. When those people marched the soldiers could have ended it. Could have shot and it was a done deal. They didn't. They thought for themselves. When they refused to fire on their own people. The World Changed.

God bless the US and God bless Ronald Reagan. How we have fallen in the past 20 years...
