Yes, the stock set-up for 3-PU Gibsons is to have a 3-way toggle, with the middle selection activating the middle and bridge PU. Many guitarists however replace the switch with a standard 3-way toggle from a 2-PU Gibson (with the middle PU not connected to it) and have the middle PU on its own volume and tone controls, so that it (or the other two PUs) can be blended in or out at will.This said, the Gibson USA SG-3 - I own one - has a 6-way rotary selector, giving Ne/Ne+Mi/Mi/Mi+Br/Br/Ne+Br.

He has a gibson, I think he'd rather have a bunch of Epis. Plus most of these Epis have upgraded pickups, which is usually the short fall in them.

I've always been a fan of three-pickup Gibsons - I own several of them. The middle position of the 3-way toggle sounds very Strat-like because it engages the middle and bridge pickup together, something which is usually incorrectly dubbed "the out-of-phase sound" - the pickups are actually IN phase, though.This all said, Ephiphone Gibson copies are not the real deal, but they come very close and they're well-made, for a decent price. ;-)Oh, and cool playing, by the way. Great demo. ;-)
