its all a scam to raise taxes on emmissions and charge us more for nothing. That doesnt mean we should not care about the planet. Its a fact that there are too many people here with a self serving attitude, who do not care what they do in terms of pollution/rubbish, this should be addressed. All planets in the solar system are infact heating up at this time..it is part of the processional cycle and the ascension of the planet.we are heading through galactic centre..which should be interesting!

So Wiki's editor which Just Happen to be a personal friend of S Schneider is a reliable source of information when it comes to explaining what Schneider meant. Yea sure try again.

I think bcfp took the Schneider quote from a blog instead of reading what Schneider actually said, which had exactly the opposite meaning. He was condemning "sound bite" science, which made it impossible to state positive evidence along with uncertainties in a 30-second segment. The wikipedia article on this provides a correct view. I would add that the wikipedia "Global Warming" article is also extremely valuable for those seeking an informative overview of CO2 effects and climate dynamics.

"To capture the public imagination, we have to offer up some scary scenarios, make simplified dramatic statements and little mention of any doubts one might have."Does this guy sound like a climate scientist? Yes (Stephen H. Schneider). Unfortunately, even level-headed people are swayed by by emotion and tend to use re-enforcement bias to keep them sane. Dumb people follow like sheep. Critical thinkers and rational persons are left in the dust.Round 1 - Roll out the "hockey stick graph".

Lives at many risk??
SaveRestoule (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Were those tree's from a logging company, in which they did not take safety into consideration but looked at things from a monetary perspective instead, in turn putting lives of many at risk?Nope didn't think so...

Many viewers may be less interested in refereeing these YouTube arguments than understanding evidence underlying CO2-driven anthropogenic warming. Extensive data are found in the literature (GRL, PNAS, J. Climate, etc.), but they can also Google web sources for a start - "Global Warming" for a wikipedia overview, "Greenhouse Effect" for basic physics, "Climate Book" for a mathematically rigorous analysis, and "Lean Rind 2008" for a recent paper with model-independent CO2 confirmatory data.

b2) You lost all credibility when your genius (modeler (HANSEN´s) computer models failed. Yeah, they probably will say they have fixed those models to mimic the past, but fact is your model has been proven wrong and you lost credibility. As the earth cools down if the sun remains in low activity there will be outrage against global warming alarmists.

b1) I said people killed by curbing oil and creating crazy oil and food prices. Global Warming was overwhelmingly natural and hurricanes are strong because of differentials in temperature as we know from High School. At the end of millenium and in the 1950s there was a big difference in temperature and the result was very strong hurricanes . Global warming was overwhelmingly natural and result of hot pacific decadal oscillation along with the most active sun in 8000 years and others.

There seems to be disagreement as to whether evidence for CO2-driven warming is in the journals. In that circumstance, viewers should visit the journals to draw their own conclusion - one can Google "Lean Rind 2008" for a recent GRL paper with model-independent CO2-confirmatory data. Regarding the value of the wikipedia "global warming" article, I judge it a superb source for comprehensive, informative description of climate dynamics, but readers should visit it to draw their own conclusions. |
