A turbocharger is completely different from a supercharger. The turbo was still working, you just don't get much boost at low RPMs. Have to wait for the turbo to spool up (called turbo lag).

I used to be a big fan of the first two films then I moved to Australia and eventually ownedan XC Falcon Hardtop with update grille and the Ford Landau....I will never own a Ford again! The original movie car used a hollowed out 671 blower with an electric motorto switch on/off. If this replica would have been left in original GT package it would be worth well in excess of $50,000.
