Actually, read your bible a little closer. Jesus was born in Bethlehem..in Palestine. It has been Palestine since Rome ruled it. Before the Hebrews conquered it and called it Israel, it was Caanaan. It was Palestine before,during and after Ottoman Empire until the creation of Israel after WW2.
