I'm glad to hear someone say that. I don't claim to be a saint, or holier than thou, but poor Shane needs help, and I agree; its NOT funny. I think that he's actually crying out for help, and someone needs to be a friend. His hard partying image doesn't matter if he's six feet under. That would be a great tragedy, and a great loss. I saw him on Thursday at Brixton. He is an indisputable genius, but it saddened me to see him like that. He was a parody of himself and people were laughing as if he were a freakshow. He barely made it through any of the songs without forgetting most of the verses. The band had to kill Irish Rover after about a minute. There's nothing to celebrate about one of Ireland's greatest ever musical talents being so drunk that he can't even remember his own songs.

I saw him in Brixton last night. If anyone cared to really listen to his lyrics, not to mention to the music, they would realise that he his a genius. Regardless of the purported intoxication. Granted they are not to everyone's taste ..but neither his Mozart. Thank you Shane for a wonderful night.
