i cant believe they only gave big brown a 109 beyer for this race. 5 wide both turns? and a 100 in the preakness. smarty jones gets a 118 beyer on a fast track big brown runs a much faster time on a fast track and theres a 18 point difference? doesnt make sense to me. just like curlins 112 beyer in the woodward. that was ridiculous.

And, in a word, it's a pity to see these two horses --- Kentucky Derby's winner and runner-up --- left the horse racing field too early before they could make more great achievements.

This is the first time I comment on this great American horse racing. I just wonder if Big Brown hadn't retired and kept such a fresh style, maybe he would have got a chance to become the triple winner of Kentucky Derby(2000m), British Epsom Derby(about 2400m) and Melbourne Cup(3200m)? And it's a sad thing to see that poor filly Eight Belles' breakdown. She would also get the bright future if she was still alive.

Recaptured a Derby memory. He was totally my Derby horse ;) No one even came close to him! He didn't even have any competition!!! and seeing little Eight Belles slaughter 18 other grade 1 colts. She could've even had a future. But freak accidents do happen. But great job Big Brown!! truly the best 3 yr old of 08!!!! =]=]=]=]=]

Since he got hurt and was pulled up in the last jewel of the crown, he was retired. He is an awesome stud for breeding and they didnt want to hurt him anymore than that.

You know that Horse racing is a British sport, yeah? Im Irish we invented jump racing the british invented flat racing, which is practised in America. So its not a stupid American sport, its a stupid English sport. |
