Amazing video, one of my all time favorite songs. In '69 we were going to buy an old ship and start our own country. Then out of the blue, family happened. Thanks for the great video

The bigger personality conflicts, as I see it, where between Young and Crosby. David Crosby had issues with Neil Young's budding hard-rock personality and artistic style (the foundations of grunge music, possibly the greatest art-form since the blues itself). Well that's how I heard it, but as they say there's three sides to every story.

Stills auditioned for The Monkees but obviously didn't make it, thankfully. It would have stereotyped him in another genre of music and we would not have this legacy of music today.

actually, they were all famous when CSNY formed. Crosby had been in the Byrds, one of the bigger US bands of the mid/late 60s. Nash had been in the Hollies in England. Stills had been with Young in Buffalo Springfield. I think Young and Stills always had personal and/or artistic clashes. And Young was in the process of launching what turned out to be a very successful solo career. So he drifted in and out of CSN(Y) pretty much as the mood took him.

Can someone tell me whats the story between CSN and Young? I understand Young was already famous when he joined CSN. Was Young a kinda support for them? It seems to me that Young preferred to go solo during the 70's. The stage announcer at woodstock slightly mentions his name.

Crosby took a hard hit in the looks department. If you look at pics of him in like 1970 then just 7 years later he looks 20 years older. But I love them all.
