Ambitious and ruthless; could have been a Mafia wife. Wanted Tiberius to succeed Augustus at any cost.

would anyone be interested in seeing clips of Sian Phillips playing famed actress Mrs Patrick Campell in a series about Winston Churchill's mother? She plays another quite crafty manipulative lady, but in that instance uses her femininity to get what she wants. Its a VERY different performance to Livia, but just as fascinating, if brief. "Jennie" is virtually impossible to get hold of.

wait--didn't Livia poison Augustus? is that the point of the scene? am I stupid? OK.

Where's the video of Livia and the Egyptian comparing poisons? That was classic.

HAHA... why was Livia such a bitch anyway?

Sian fue, es y sera sencillamente... fascinante

Sian Phillips was mesmerising as Livia. One of my 3 favourite characters - along with Caligula and Claudius. Stunning performance among many stunning performances. I, Claudius is a series I just never get tired of.

That's a fortunate accident, when you consider the subject matter.

Livia has to be the best character next to Claudius himself.

With figs like that, wouldn't you be concerned with confused flies landing everywhere? |
