i dont know if that was really racist or youre trying to say white people dont have the blues, and if youre saying the second one heres a thought, I am white, not beautiful, fat not strong, i live paycheck to paycheck, and like i said im fat, the last healthy thing to enter my body was brast milk

NOT true! If you have white skin (and I don't mean albino) you are special. You have something others have to fight for. You are beautiful, strong, rich and healthy. NOT in every case, but most of the time people will listen when you speak. If you are black, well you gotta move on "up" to the east side if you know what I'm sayin'.

The record is -lots- slower & is played on by some tough competition for Freddy's regular drummer: -Both- Jim Keltner -and- Jim Gordon, (at the time both in "Mad Dogs And Englshmen", as was producer/pianist of this track, Leon Russell), two of the top session dudes ever, and Duck Dunn on bass. The record has an 8th-note high-hat ride from one drummer and a 16th-note ride from the other. It's a feel virtually impossible for one guy to get on his own.

i'm not sure about his technique when this show was performed, but when I saw him in '68, Freddy was using a plastic thumb pick & a metal finger pick. You can hear subtle super-high overtones on some of his records, from the metal pick hitting the strings. It's a unique sound, "country blues" picking technique from a very urban artist. The closest i've heard is Magic Slim.

I was laughing at the poster who said:"you know what... the guy looks like a potato, hes dressed like a bronx high school janitor and he's STILL amazing. Now thats a legend :p"But thanks for trying to be mean.

i want to agree with you but black people invented syncopation back in africa. i think what white people think of as soul is often just copying what comes naturally to blacks, in a very generalized way of course. no doubt culture is a big part of it. still without the influence of blacks i can't believe we'd have gotten past mozart.
