People might doubt if he was just another conspicracy nut, but he was a US soldier. He has seen first-hand the evils of Amerika. I don't need to say thing here, Howard Zinn has already said it. Amerika is an evil empire, it has commited war crimes, torture, and genocide, like almost every other nation. The only problem I have, is that they cover it up with words like Liberty and Freedom. Amerika is a hypocritial state, and I hope it fall very soon.

Although Mr. Zinn is correct in his assessment,it explains why the U.S. is considered the "land of opportunity." We get what we want and don't apologize for it. That is why we are the richest and most powerful country in the world. The word you are looking for is "hegemony." Yes, the U.S. is the most dangerous for a reason. It makes the economy work! Unfortunately the world is not made to be a peaceful place. Remember the animal kingdom because we are part of it, and the strong survive.

The reason why the Soviet Union was "beaten down" as you put it was due to it's economy collapsing on itself, the defecting satellites territories, and it's failed invasion of Afghanistan. If anything, WW2 reinvigorated the Soviet economy due to the response of Russian industrialism. Stalin did indeed smooth over the travesties of the war for the "honor of Mother Russia", but if the Soviet Union was beaten down in WW2, why did the US combat it politically until at least Reagan?

Zinn has been a soldier though, he says so in the video. The only reason he learned through the books was because of the GI Bill of Rights. I certainly understand your preference for experience over texts, but calling his vision "inflated" after he served in WW2 comes off as impolite in the least.
